Communication

The root of all relationships is communication. How can you have a relationship without communication?

When I think of communication I can't even name all of the different forms we have today. On a daily bases I communicate through my cell phone, e-mails, letters, and facebook. I know there are tons of different ways other people are communicating with each other. The basic principle can be broken down to one person talking to another person. Now I am thinking of communication on a different scale. In my life communication plays a major role by helping me enjoy the many great friendships and relationships I have with people, and everyday I am thankful for the many people I have met in my life. Communication is the key to more memories and laughter with my fellow friends. But in this world full of communication, how do we fail to communicate to our God?

This thought process is so young to me. I can barely wrap my hands around the idea of me, a creation, communicating better with another creation rather than the creator itself. What the crap is my mind thinking? This circumstance almost sounds like I'm adopting myself out to another family because I never learned to communicate with my true Father.

Our lives are so wrapped in personal, physical, relationships to the extent of having a relationship with an un-seen person seems as easy as hitting the billion dollar jackpot in Las Vegas. Everyday I find myself struggling to secure good communication between myself and my Father, but I always end up back at the starting line. Do you feel this? Do you feel the daily urge to build the relationship with your friends rather than your relationship with God?

Wait, have you ever heard of faith? As I'm thinking of my lack of communication with God my mind is beginning to remember what faith is all about. Dictionary.com says faith is the "confidence or trust in a person or thing." Faith is the assurance that Jesus Christ is the superstar. He is the hero in my life and yours. There is a problem in this world and He came down to make a way. He was the man who died for my sins. He paid my debt. He wiped my sins clean. He is the solution to the problem. So if I believe Jesus Christ is my true savior, then is communication more about Faith?


So in this world today, I believe God is telling us our Faith is so much bigger than our communication. We love facebook. We love cell phones. And we love iPhone's with a fancy 2MP camera, 8GB capacity, and PIM functionality with calendar and reminders. But how much more time and money are we investing in our communication with God?

Communication makes relationships. So maybe it is time to find the Most Reliable Service. It is time for an upgrade.

God's people?

Do you ever wonder what happened to God's people? This question comes to my mind after reading about the 600,000 plus Israelites led by Moses out of Egypt. These were the people of the Lord. As they traveled together the Lord blessed them with the strength to keep everyone moving towards their future home. If people strayed away from God's commands he would allow the people to suffer by removing himself. He would temporarily remove himself to allow the people to understand how much they need Him. Although whenever they traveled together God made statements to other tribes and people groups. Wars were no contest. God allowed the Israelites to completely obliterate the opposing armies. But how does this relate to us?

I believe God is calling the Christian nation to come together. Yes He can move through us individually, but how marvelous would God's light shine with Christians in one accord. I'm not talking about just being together, but I am talking about a collective and conjointed faith. If we could shout his name in unison, the monumental change and uproar will be heard throughout the universe.

Why then do we continue to split? Why do we have multiple churches within the same communities? If we are all preaching the word of God then why can we not see eye-to-eye? If one group wants to shout, let them shout. If one groups wants to clap, let them clap. If one group wants to sing, let them sing. Stop ripping and shredding God's people apart from each other. Touch your community with one voice. Do not give the darkness any room to see failure, pride, and selfish behavior. We must learn to hate sin and hold each other accountable. Help a brother, but do not hate a brother. Please do not ridicule "mega" churches, yet rejoice that one voice is being lifted high to praise the one and only sovereign King. What happened to one God, one church, and one song?

How long will we continue to divide ourselves?

I pray that God's divine love will begin to shine in each of us. No matter what church we attend, I pray that we can begin to grow together. May God be our light and His word be our connecting chain. I also pray that unwanted walls will burn down. No matter how much we desire to mold the church with our hands, I hope we can learn to have faith in God so he can lead our communities in one light and one agenda. I pray that we Christians can begin to realize a church is more important than passing the offerring plates just to pay the bills for the building. Our church is a place of community, fellowship, and God.

This is my passion. This is my journey. This is my prayer.

Community

So I just got back from visiting my gf in Hattiesburg. As we are beginning our summers I can only think about where God has us today and tomorrow. How is this summer going to effect my life? I can't wait to find out, but can I hurry up and get this started?

Crave

Thank You!

Today I crave. I crave for an overflowing heart.
Not a drip, nor a flood, can amount to my deepest soul cravings to see Jesus move.
With arms wide open I pray this generations can see the true value of Christ Jesus. He is the Glorious One, the Shining Star, Light of the world, King of all Kings, and an infinite more titles.
May we count all as lost excpet for Jesus.
Lord we lay down our burdens and worldy possesions.
This is your drink, your sip.
What can we do for you, Jesus?

Today I firmly believe one of the hardest obstacles to overcome is being separated from your home church because of another family members mishaps. To live with almost every string cutoff is one of the toughest challenges any Christian could ever face. For over four years I was blessed to find great friendships, teachings, and memories, but now other family members tell me the church is marching down the road of darkness. How could this be with several great sermons and spirit-filled worship services?

So now I choose to jump tracks and land in the middle of the most successful church in the SBC: Bellevue Baptist Church. For me, there is an unexplainable attraction to a church that is so gigantic. So many activites, people, and plans are all focused around Jesus Christ. Can this really be true? Even though I barely know a single soul within the hallways, I am still amazed to see everyone gathered for one reason.

During the next few months I'm searching. Amongst my internship and video job, I am searching for the true meaning of church. What brings people to church? If Bellevue is so large, then why can't all christians join in on the same movement?
Also, I'll be searching for new friendships. Broken friendships won't be found, but new friendships are just around the corner.
